Most 5-HTP is extracted from the seeds of a woody climbing shrub native to West Africa, called the Griffonia simplicifolia plant.
5-HTP or “hydroxy L-tryptophane” (5-Hydroxytryphophan) is a naturally-occurring amino acid and is the precursor and metabolic intermediate in the biosynthesis of the neurotransmitters serotonin and melatonin from tryptophan. 5-HTP is converted to the neurotransmitter serotonin (5-HT), with the help of vitamin B6. This occurs both in nervous tissue and in the liver.

The body makes 5-HTP naturally from tryptophan and, then, converts it into serotonin. This neurotransmitter has many powerful effects on the brain. Not only does it improve mood, it also suppresses hunger and helps to curb weight gain. Studies have suggested that 5-HTP can improve symptoms of fibromyalgia, including pain, anxiety, morning stiffness, and fatigue. Many people with fibromyalgia have low levels of serotonin. Since 5-HTP, like antidepressants, raises levels of serotonin in the brain, it may work too.In addition to L-5-HTP, our formula includes vitamins C and B6. These vitamins are important to optimize the effects of L-5-HTP.

We are all aware it affects individuals, but not many of us know how much impact television commercials have. Most of us assume we are largely resistant to its impact, thinking it merely informs us. Truth be told, television commercials have way more influence on every one of us than we realize or simply might even image.
